A rare and early painting by Wesner LaForest depicting a practitioner kneeling in adoration before the Vodou Deity, Baron Samedi. The practitioner’s arms are raised. From the 1950’s to the early 60’s LaForest produced a limited amount of work at Port-au-Prince’s Centre d’Art. His work is rare, and other than being a mask-maker, little is know of him prior to joining the Centre d’Art.
