Blacksmith transformed to artist, Laurent is celebrated for his sculpted lines in diverse subject matter including still lifes of plants and fish, Vodou scenes and presentations of rural life from everyday work to joyous events.
A member of the Centre d'Art, Laurent was regularly lauded by its leaders especially Dewitt Peters who often discussed his masterly paintings.
