In Seneque Obin’s Le Petite Anse, the artist develops the inextricable bond he and his now dead horse share. Seneque would revisit this scene nearly every decade throughout his career. We know of four memory paintings of his beloved horse taken on its way to burial, the earliest dating back to 1950.
